Rayfoss 200mW 532nm Model RF532

Edited
Model RF532-200mW-CSF
Rayfoss

I'm editing this review of this laser.

Just like any piece of electronic of equipment. You will have ones that fail. No mater how well they are assembled.
I Believe rayfoss sells quality products. Since the laser failed the next day. I don't believe I could give a fair review.
I don't want to hurt their business. They have lots of good reviews. They are very polite as well as understanding.
Faona is trying very hard, to please her customers.

I can tell you that the laser was constructed very well. The threading on the laser's tail cap and mid section were machined fairly well.
They would mesh nicely. No grinding or forcing of mismatched threads. Nice heavy build, felt nicely balance in my hand.
It came with both a rechargeable 18650 2400mAh and a CR123 1300mAh cells

Rayfoss.com is giving me the option to exchange or refund.
ASH suggested in his post below, that I try a different model, from rayfoss. I just Might do that.

That's the deceptive part of "focusable" greens - they only focus "out" and unfortunately, the extra optics rob the laser of divergence and power, severely. I was taken by the same "focusable" hype about a year ago and was disappointed, however you should probably have that laser metered, because even with the bad beam characteristics, the 150mW "focusable" green I had could light matches - Rayfoss is generally pretty good for stated power (from what I have heard, (I have a few lasers en route from them for thorough testing so I'll know more then) but the optics could be screwing you rather heavily...

I'd be very interested in seeing a power measurement on this laser. More subjective observations like burning ability are somewhat useful, but it might be a problem with either focus or power.

They say they guarantee the lower end of the power mentioned on the webiste, so it should put out 180 mW in this case...

Well as of today The laser no longer works, At all. It emits only a small bit of red light. The battery is fully charged measuring 4.1V

This one was definitely a dud. The burning ability was very poor. Not even comparable to a 150Mw laser. So something was wrong from the start.
Plus I think the focusing lens was out of sync. Thats why I was unable to focus a nice small point.

I have sent a e-mail to RayFoss. I'm positive he will work something out with me. He does have a lot of good reviews and happy customers.
I will keep this thread updated on what happens with the RayFoss.com

I'm so glad that I ordered two lasers from both O-Like and RayFoss.
As Of now I still have my new style dilda from Susie to play with, in this time of sorrow.

Rayfoss.com responded to my e-mail. They are willing to do a exchange or return. So I will be sending this laser back. For one more try. Hope this one is a good one.
I will post back when I get the replacement. To see how it compares.

Interesting, makes you think something must have been wrong with the unit from the start. I look forward to seeing your experiences with the replacement.

hmmm rayfoss is not really good.. go for o-like..
Whoa. Why? I have nothing but good to say about rayfoss, they have never let me down. O-like doesn't have the same products/deals that you can find at rayfoss. Also, they don't actually manufacture this laser, they just sell it. And, if the OP is gettin' a replacement, I don't see how rayfoss isn't good.
matrixcs: have you had a bad experience with them? :cryyy:

I wouldn't say that just yet.
They have responded to all my e-mails, always within 24 hours.
They gave me the option to exchange, or return. My defective item.
All of the other members here. At laserpointerforums. Have so far, had nothing but good things to say. About their products and service.

Dealing with electronics you will have defective items from time to time.
Just last month Dell sent me out a defective Dell mini 9. It would not even power on. So I sent it back, and got my replacement a few weeks later.

I'm sure rayfoss.com will fix this problem.

They seem responsive enough, much better than say DX or KD.

I think you mean this 200mW focusable green:
http://rayfoss.com/pro_info.asp?id=1525
I emailed Rayfoss about these two lasers and this was there response:
"Regard the 200mW green laser torches
Frankly, RF532-200mW-FTG ( http://www.rayfoss.com/pro_info.asp?id=1525) has more stabler and excellent power output performance (Between 195mw-220mw in 60seconds power testing).

Item RF532-200mW-CSF(http://www.rayfoss.com/pro_info.asp?id=1532) power output in 60seconds ( consistantly lighting) is between 180mW-200mW.Since the size of this item is smaller so the heat dispensing is not good enough. But advantage of this itme is the size is adjustable and has 2 power supply options.

Anyway, if you like more stabler power output performance I recommend item RF532-200mW-FTG"

For the same price. I would go with the 195mW~220mW one. :lasergun:

Thanks Ash,
I will do that. I will ask RayFoss.com, About swapping for the other laser.
I just mailed them the laser today. So hopefully they will get it soon.

Why does the U.S. postal service, charge us so much money?
They wanted $31.00 for tracking to china, WTF.?????
The only way to get delivery confirmation, was to pay for the tracking.

I get stuff fro DX all the time with tracking for free. O-like and rayfoss both charge only a few dollars for shipping, with tracking.

yes ash... :) however RF532-200mW-FTG is very nice. i like it only to see.... it seems a little rpl....more comfortable to bring with you......and rayfoss SEEMS THE ONLY ONE..that can assure TRUE output of this model. also DX...and qualitychinagoods sell this laserbut is not guardanteed to receive a good unit. cosuld be 80mw... 140...... so.. i like that rayfoss sell this laser. also o-like should start to sell it!!!! so there wil be a PRICE WAR :p and we could get it for about 120 $ or so..ehehhe
