Re: FS: 3-3.5Watt 445nm Copper Dominator, 2x26650 blue laser (Pristine Condition)

Good looking unit, hope it sells fast for you. Best wishes for your sale.:) so the total price your asking is 300.00 shipped plus paypal fees?

it is not the same laser, many different features, so price is different

Are you still selling your laser?

Has the price dropped?

As yourself, individuals will pay more to build something than they would for a finished laser. That price can drop far below what you might get for it on ebay than here, strangely enough. Only problem with ebay is the listing might be pulled down if you indicate the output power, but for most of us buying through ebay is better due to the ability to get our money back if there are problems, but can be more risky for the seller.

For some of us we need to know which diode that is, I suppose we can guess at that wavelength and output, but knowing which diode allows us to get an idea of what the divergence is.

As I see it:

Pros: Enough power to make the beam at 445 nm quite visible, or burn. Many members prefer a G2 lens for more output power. Great battery with lots of capacity, nice copper heat sink, nice host.

Cons: Which diode? Which driver? *445 nm. Some members prefer three element lens to reduce the divergence.

*For blue lasers, many members are now into 462 nm and longer wavelengths due to the increased visibility compared to 445 nm. Also, for most members, this laser is located a great distance away, harder to sell things over international lines due to fear of customs problems. Listing on ebay might make this reality moot.

Suggestion: Thread needs a beam shot in a darkened room, or outside at night.

Sorry, I wanted to share a personal observation without sounding like I was attacking someone's sales thread. Diodes drop power as they build heat and as they build time they seem to drop power faster with heat build up, some of my retired diodes start out pretty strong but fade fast, I hate to pull them but they are worn and do not serve my burning purpose, as something to look at they could be used longer, but I wouldn't sell them without saying they fade fast, usually I give them the 36 volt send off. :eg:

My point is simply that our overdriven diodes are wear items and that a used laser is used and just like a car you lose value once it has some mileage on it, now if it has a new diode then that adds to the value, for me I don't want any used diodes, I want to get the best they have to offer and wear them down myself, but that's just how I feel.

I was thinking he ought to just put a 462 nm diode in it and sell it but it might not help his bottom line at all, probably won't.
