LuXxOr, just let me know when your ready!

Arenared, your Pocket Mini Red is done!

Louis Beltran Red 12-8-08.jpg

It's a sweet build... I have a tiny dot of white paint to mark the 5' focal point. Counter clockwise focuses for closer distance. Eye protection is recommended. Instructions and safety recommendations included.

I'll have your blu-ray built by the weekend and have them both in the mail by Monday...

Arenared, got your Pocket Mini blu-ray done!

Louis Beltran 12-8-08.jpg

It's a high efficiency diode set at 124mA's, putting out 115mW through the AixiZ acrylic lens.

Both will be in Monday's mail. (Signature confirmation)

I can't wait!!

Is there any way you can mark the 5 ft focal point on the blue ray also? Please .. Thats was a great idea

Don't forget my marbles!! :)

robjdixon,

Tell you what I'll do...

Pocket mini 7.jpg

Since these little beauties are so sweet, I've really got to watch my stock of the host. So you will have to send me the piece that needs modification...

Pocket mini 19.jpg

Then I will bore it out on the lathe for $10 bucks if you buy the heatsink for $19. That's $29 dollars plus $3 dollars shipping and handling.

But you must first send me the piece. I would rather you did the disassembly. It's better that way because it's less shipping, less work (for me), and most of all, you see the way it all goes together...
Jay

P.S. Once you get it apart, you may find that you could do the modification yourself. If you have a Dremel tool, you could grind it. The key is, (besides just making room for the FlexDrive to fit inside), is not to grind the top. Or shorten it. The heatsink is sized, so that the overall length of both pieces together, is the proper fit for the battery/host.

Sure, I'll mark it as well at 5'. For some reason I only mark the red ones... I guess it's because I don't use the blu-ray for burning. I just like to set mine for 30' best visual focus. That seems to be the sweet spot for me. Just pointing and fluorescing stuff.

At this very moment, there are only two builds in front of you. I like to take my time on these, and make 1 per evening. So your looking at Wednesday as of now...

PM sent!

matrix961, I finished yours for you this morning!

Kory Sarson 12-8-08.jpg

Another one with the longer wavelength. I can't believe how visually bright this is at only 100mW's! (per your request, for better longevity) I'm starting to think that it is better to just keep these 803T diodes at 100mW's instead of pushing them higher...

That is awesome. I'm glad you've had good luck with these diodes. I can't wait to see this in person when I receive it. I'll have to post a few pics of it's use.

Yes!

Please do so... I would love to see your comments.

Honestly, beam shots will require some smoke with blu-ray or red. Even green unless it's in the dark.

For those who have not seen blu-ray, then I want to tell you that it seems dim in daylight. Turn it on in the dark, and you will be amazed. They fluoresce and make things glow! And you will see the beam reaching out into the night sky!

J_Oei, yours is ready to ship tomorrow! (Tuesday)

Set at 101mW's for better longevity per your request.  Running at 116mA's current. And another longer wavelength, visually brighter diode! I think I can say that, (at least in my experience), these 803T diodes for the most part, seem to be visually brighter at the lower power settings...

Please let me know when you get it! :)

Re: FS: My New 'Pocket Mini' Lasers! - Blu-Ray or

You are a pocket mini building robot jayrob! I just finished my first mini bluray last night. Going to put together the red tonight. I'm still holding out hope on a mini green, my 100mW modules arrived yesterday. I still need to desolder the circuit board off of one of my 50mW greens to use as a proof of concept.

Glad the heatsinks worked for you! Did you use a Dremel tool to grind out the threaded aluminum driver mount? Or drill?

Anyway, if you some how get a green module to fit this tiny host, I sure would be interested in seeing the pictures!

Nedtheshred, this little beauty is coming your way tomorrow. (Wednesday)

116mW's at 130mA's. You will not be disappointed... ;)

Hey all you recipients of these!... I know your going to be very pleased. Please post your comments if you would, so that I can put them in my 'testimonial' page! :)
