I have a nice 405 blu laser up for sale. This laser uses the Dorcy Tactical host, has a DrLava V3 Flexdrive, a PHR diode driven at 125Ma's, set up in a custom aluminum heat sink. This laser is powered by three AAA bateries. I have given this laser two thirty minute runs with a cool down period between the runs, as well as several shorter periods of operation.

I do not have a laser power meter but this laser pops balloons, lights red, unsharpied matches and stings the skin.

Due to the fact that I can not accurately guage the power output I will put the price at $ 175.00 and ship free to the US and Canada.

 Pm me if interested. CMD

Great looking unit cmd! I think I like your work, build quality, great heat sink etc. and I would rate you among the top builders on the LPF! Asking price is quite fair for the quality!

Thanks scopeguy20,
It is a well done laser, wish that I had a 6x to pop in it, every thing is there for one. The heat 'sink is larger on the inside, last one left from a AMC7135 run where the diode was insulated from the host.
Any thoughts on me putting up a matching LOC red, same host and 'sink, sort of a package deal ?

I LOVE "matched sets."

I have a "triple set" of Kryton Grooves now (red, violet, and green)

Peace,

I am raising the price !
I am sweetening the deal as well. This will now be a matched set of lasers, a LOC red and 405 Blu ray. Both will be in the Dorcy tactical host's, matching heat 'sinks, V3 drives in both, red driver set 425 Ma's, Blu at 125 Ma's and complement each other very well.
So this will start at $275.00, shipping will be actual cost to destination, Paypal only.
PM me if you are interested. CMD

Hi,

I'm not familiar with this host so I tried to hunt it down via Google and found the following measurements on Amazon:

Product Dimensions: 5.5 x 10 x 2 inches ; 10.4 ounces

:-?

Is that really the case...?

Most people have not seen this host before and that is why I chose it. I looked around and it seemed that you can't swing a dead cat without hitting an MXDL or a Dorcy Jr.
This host costs a little more than some others but the quality more than makes up for it.
*Here are a couple of pics for a size guage, with three AAA's it weighs 5 ounces. The last two pic's are this host with the DC Tactical Chunk heat sink, the diode and the lens mount into the Tac Chunk directly and do not use an Aixxis module. I have these 'sinks *as well as the Big Chunk for the newer style MXDL's in stock and ready to ship if you are interested. This Tac Chunk in the host is not for sale, it is my beater test rig. CMD

CMD, thanks for taking the time to take & post those pics

Now that I know they're not 10" long  (that's Amazon for you... ::)) I have to say they are pretty impressive, particularly with the super-size-me heatsink

Alas, I recently ordered a matching pair of Dorcy Jrs* from the professor... :D so my budget is now @nil :'(
But I'm sure there will be opportunities in the future, no...?

cheers, master DIYer!

*Fortunately for me, I don't think that there are that many dorcys in Vienna (AT) and we generally don't swing / fling / etc. our dead cats around here...  ;) :D ;D

Traveller,
The budget crunch is going around right now everywhere. *You made a good choice with Daquins lasers, top notch quality and excellent service after the sell.

Glad that you like the Supersize Tactical Chunk heat sink, Daniel has been polishing the design. Dan had an idea for a 'sink that did not use the Aixxis module yet would still accept the lens. His goal was to create a 'sink that would mount the diode directly into it thus providing the best heat transfer possible. A basic design was layed out in the forum and members took it from there, lots of good ideas to make it easier to use and easier to look at as well.

These are a two piece design, the back half is a removable tube so diode access is completely open and still enough meat to handle the cooling needs of the highest powered units. These basicly provide an unlimited duty cycle as far as heat is concerned.

In an effort to show case the new V4 driver from drlava, the Tac Chunk and the Big Chunk for MXDL's, the abilities of the 6X 405Nm diodes, we have gathered all these together, whipped up a custom case for the Laser, Dorcy Tactical, and for the 405Nm laser saftey glassess. This is being assembled by K-9 with tender loving care.

The Blu ray Dream Package is up for raffle on Laser enthusiast, tickets are two bucks. A random winner will be chosen on 3-15-2009 and the package will be shipped off to the lucky winner.

The Big Chunk for MXDL's and the Tac Chunk for the Dorcy's are available for sale, $25.00 US with US shipping free and a tube of heatsink compound thrown in as well. Dan will be shipping from the UK *as well.

With the current economy in mind I figure that a price drop is in order so these two lasers drop in price * * *;D ;D ;D $250.00 US *;D ;D ;D

As far as the dead cats go, we save the swinging around for holidays and special occasions, here in Oklahoma. LOL  CMD ::)
