Got into diode lasers a month ago, mostly have been doing things with 445nm diodes such as the M-140 and PLTB450B. I've always been interested in electronics since I was young, so I decided I'd take a step into lasers. Currently a rising Sophomore majoring in Electrical Engineering and I've done some research involving lasers with professors at my university, so its always interesting to bring information between my hobby and the work I have to do. I think it'll be great to get to know you guys and I've already seen plenty of helpful information :)

Welcome to the LPF. There is much knowledge to be gained here if you are interested. Try the custom search bar at the bottom of the page to look for answer to questions you might have. If you get stuck, just ask. Many here will help if you are trying to figure something out.

Welcome to LPF, there are many nice and knowledgeable people here who’ll be happy to listen and help you. When posting, instead of double posts please use the Edit button to edit and or add information about your laser experience to your introduction or other forum posts. Safety first! Make sure that you have the correct eye protection and always be careful around people and all living things. Please have fun, but always remember to be laser safe.

Hey another Virginia member. We have had quite a few Va members over the years but most are no longer active. If you don't mind me asking what part of Virginia?

I live in Chesterfield county, just south of Richmond.

Also on a side note, thanks for the warm welcome guys, for the time being I've got some Eagle Pair OD5 goggle which should be fine as long as I'm using either Blue or Green Laser (except unfiltered DPSS lasers of course). I'm glad that everyone here is safety conscious.
