yet another idiot in our back yard with a laser

Re: yet another idiot in our back yard with a lase

The only thing that pisses me off is how out of proportion all these stories get when the pilots report them. Being that far away would be VERY difficult to shine a laser into a helicopter's cockpit. Not to mention the helicopter is moving. And another point, the average hand shakes a small amount especially when shining a laser; add that to the distance of the object "the helicopter" the laser is aiming at would be something like 20 feet of shaking. I just get angry when people have to blow everything out of proportion "especially the cops"
"don't tase me bro!"

You can do more damage to someone's eye with your laser pointer if you use it to poke a person in the eye instead of shining into it. Does that mean it's not a weapon? Hmmm I think not. Almost every object can be used as a weapon. The rate of effectiveness determines if they are on the forbidden weapons list or not. That's why carrying guns or explosives is forbidden (at least in most countries), and carrying a toothbrush is not. It's simply easier to blast somebody to oblivion when compared to driving a toothbrush through somebody's eye and into their brain.

Maybe an explicit example, but you know what I mean. :)

but they created 5mw green to be "Safe" thats why eBay can only sell the 5mw and be legal. so if its legal, then it should be safe. i mean i know theres a blink response, but how fast is it,and to what level laser are we talking about ?
lol "safe" or not it's still dangerous. a butter knife is safe but it's possible to kill 10 men with it. lol

But, You would have to have a sick mind to kill people, and with a laser you just shine it a mile away, and you feel no pain or any thing. you wont even know if u blinded him, unless you hear the guy screaming "I'M BLIND AHHHHH !!!!!!!

Re: yet another idiot in our back yard with a lase

Some Congressman will enact legislation against them based on a news story & then we'll have to sneak just to play with our laser beam.

We're losing our freedoms because of A-holes. :(

Whats your lasers collection? Maybe cops will watch you .. - At my old job we had free chocolates bar, people started to abuse about it and few day later that privilege was removed.

Re: yet another idiot in our back yard with a lase

Consider this:

Do you know how many true crimes take place every day, every minute? http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/05cius/data/table_01.html

And we don't hear about every one of them....

But every time some moron shines a laser at a helicopter we hear about it....

It's a bunch of crap, and it’s just more manipulated suggestions provided from our(humans) lovely media.

AU claimed the banning of all lasers pointers after 300 incidents in a year...

My dad is a hippy burn out who did way too many drugs during his youth. He would never hurt a fly, and especially disrespect police. He manages to function, although he really isn't all there upstairs. I WOULD NEVER LET HIM USE ANY OF MY LASERS because I know he would shine it at a helicopter without even thinking. He pays his taxes, and offers no threat or pollution to the community, or country for that manner. But he would become news if he mindlessly shined a laser at a helicopter, all the while rapists, murderers, drug traffickers, thieves, real criminals are getting released - if they even get caught! crap crap crap. I just don't care anymore. If I go to jail for caring an illegal weapon being a laser, so be it, I WILL NOT GIVE UP MY HOBBY!

Re: yet another idiot in our back yard with a lase

Re: yet another idiot in our back yard with a lase

if this boy had for example aimed the laser against a civil airplane.......or however an airplane much more higher in the sky, he would have been possible to go up again to the guilty one?

Besides admitted that the police came me to knock to the door.....what tests would they have on the fact that I would have been not another person and I ?

That is as they do to say that has been a person in comparison to another person from miles of distance from the sky?

sorry for my bad english :-[

regards

Re: yet another idiot in our back yard with a lase
