I just got my DX True 30mw greenie in the mail today. I ordered it on Feb 27, so I seem to be in the 'average' time from order to received (14 days). This is my first real laser, besides the 1mw reds that you buy on street corners in the city
So I opened it up, took out the batteries it came with, took a quick peek at the instructions to see which way they are supposed to go in, and put it all together. Overall the pointer has a nice weight to it with batteries, and it is pretty balanced when holding it. The laser comes on right away when you press the button. There is a noticable 'warm-up' period where you can see the dot/beam brighten. I wasn't able to detect any visible decrease in power once it peaked, but I suppose it did anyway since that is the normal behavior.
I went outside and shined it around at dusk, and I could clearly see the beam. I tried taking pictures, but they didn't turn out too well and you couldn't see the beam at all. I waited until night to take pics again. Once I showed it off, everyone in my family wanted one, so I will be ordering more ;D
Overall I am very happy with what I got, and it is certainly worth the price. However I want MORE POWER and my next project will be to destroy a DVD burner and burn things.
I can't attach more than 1 pic it seems, so I uploaded all the pics I took to my site. But I can't link it here because I'm not allowed. You can find the link if you click to my profile. I attached what I think is the best pic. It is of the laser beaming off into the sky with my camera in night mode.
