Yellow Laser So Expensive??

There is no semiconductor that bridges the yellow gap for lasers, it's not a matter of commercial need.

I'm sure people have been looking for quite some time, as there is actual (ophthalmic) use for yellow diodes. But besides that there are gas lasers and optically pumped lasers to get the job done.

True, DPSS yellows also do have better beam specs.
