X-Boost the replacement for FlexDrive?

Hi all,

I'm trying to finish what I started roughly 6 years ago, which was building a PHR-803t laser, using a single 3.7v battery. Unfortunately, my FlexDrive is somewhat mangled due to poor soldering, so I was thinking of just purchasing a new one. Dr.Lava seems to be gone, and the only thing close I can find is the X-boost drive. My concern is the current... the X-Boost is rated for a minimum of 100mA, which seems to be on the high end of the diode's operating capacity, and also does not give me any flexibility to run at a low current. Is this my only feasible choice?

Also, this place has exploded since a few years ago...!

If it helps, my 803 has been running at 120 mA for the past 2 years and its still going strong. The X-boost is an excellent driver and actually perfect for sensitive 405's. If you want more info on current drivers have a look for Trevors driver compendium.

Illumination supply still has some flexdrives, if you can't find an X-boost.

Yup, Illumination supply also has microboosts.

As for a replacement for the FlexDrive the ElastiDrive is the closest I can think of, but those are not being produced at the moment.
