Not sure if anyone might be interested in this, but I figured I'd offer!

Deal in progress!

I have an older laptop, a Dell Latitude D610, that I'd like to trade for a laser of some sort.

The laptop is 1.6 Ghz, comes with 512MB RAM, it has a DVD CD/RW drive, but I also have a removable bay battery that doubles the battery life. Has built-in bluetooth. I'd be sending it with an 80GB hard drive, dual booting into BackTrack 5 (which it runs quite well, packet injection and all) and Windows XPSP3. (I can change that up and get it out to you in combinations of Ubuntu, XP and BackTrack5 if you'd like). The original OEM key is still intact. I do not have the original installation media, but I'll include the slipstream disc I use on it. I can usually get between 3 and 5 hours out of it, with a max of 8 (wireless off, screen dim, reading text, ect.). Only defects are 1: general wear here and there. 2: the "A" key is a bit touchy (it always works, sometimes too well) and 3: The bottom left-click button had been used millions of times, and is now a little touchy.

All these PICTURES were taken within the last 30 minutes.

Now you ask if I'm reasonable on the price. I figure the whole package would cost someone $100-$150 depending on where and from who they bought it, so I tried to be reasonable in that range. In order of want:

~100-150 mw 532nm
~400-500 mw 650nm
~400 mw 405nm

I'm not too picky about wavelength, but I'd like to stay out of the 445-450 and infrared areas for this one. Mostly, I'm just looking to trade toys with someone.

If you don't like my offers, please suggest something more reasonable for me, and I'll consider it!

If possible, I'd like to stay US-only, since shipping costs would double for international. I do understand that I'm not exactly a long-standing member of the community, so I wouldn't be opposed to being facebook friends, or supplying you with my cell # or something. I'd be shipping USPS Priority Mail from beautiful Colorado.

im not too sure this will go for $100-$150
maybe in your local area?
also, you will need a piece of paper with your username and date next to the laptop in one of your pics
and good luck with your sale :)

For what he's looking to trade the laptop for, it would be a very solid trade that's a good deal for both parties involved. Good luck with your sale.

These are also very easy to work on. I did a motherboard replacement (water damage) on a 600 series last year. Comes all the way apart in 15 minutes or less.

Random bump in support of dual boot Linux.
Mint is also good for potentially inexperienced linux users.
My 1.6 Ghz laptop still does pretty well for most things.

My dad received this laptop for his aerospace engineering job at Rockwell, so I can vouch this laptop is durable. Good luck! :D

It seams nice, is there anyway to put it into ACHI mode so I can install a hackintosh?

I'm not sure about that, can't say I've ever been quite THAT bored with it. I'm mid-deal right now, however. I'll be updating this thread as things happen.
