Its just the housing as i sold the driver.

Good Luck TheGr8tRevealing. You appear to have found your next project ;)

Peace,
dave

or we can just do this here.

ok... so what you need next is a circuit that will go directly under the hole in the host for the on/off switch. There is usually a little extruded "C" shaped support that comes inside most laser hosts. hopefully you didnt sell this or lose it as it will be very crucial in making this work.

What i like to do is buy just generic circuit board material from radio shack. I then remove the spring that came on the original on/off circuit/driver board. I then cut out a piece of the generic electrical board (roughly in the size of the original driver/ on/off circuit board). Sand or dremel this piece down to make a good fit into the "C" shape support. You will then need to remove the on/off button from the original driver (which in your case may be hard since you sold it... you may be able to find someting online or at radio shack)

Either way, next step is to solder this button to your generic board, as well as soldering the battery spring to the board. You can also use another small spring coming off the generic board to touch the host (completing the circuit), and then do all your soldering with two wires (+) and (-) coming off. These wires will need to be long enough to stick out of the host after you glue this whole generic board/"C" support/button into the host.

NOW... this is the point where you can simply slip in the aixiz module with driver and wires...

I sold the C shaped support with the driver, so it sounds like its going to be a bit to tricky for my first DIY laser.

ouchy... yeah. it still might be do-able, but you'll need to just somehow figure out how to support the button under the hole, and you'll need a smal spring for the batteries to rest up against.

I think a pen style is way to hard for me to do at the moment. I will try a flashlight style with the lava driver that i bought. Sorry for wasting your time.

Learning is NEVER a waste of time. Pen/pointer styles are just more difficult to do. Make a torch style and save the pen host for later. You'll like the heat sinking and battery size better for the first one anyway.

Peace,
dave
