This seems to be the reverse of what most are seeking right now. I'm looking for a lower-wavelength 445 diode. They can skew as low as 438, and that's what I'm looking for.

I've got 2 at home that are somewhat violet compared to the rest of mine. I'd be willing to trade them to you for 2 higher wavelength ones if you're interested, or I'll sell them to you at whatever the going rate for 445s is these days.

Oh interesting -
I'm not necessarily sure that I could actually promise you some higher wavelength diodes though. I don't particularly know that I have any on hand that are high.

How low would you guesstimate yours at?

I'd say somewhere around 440nm, but that's using my trusty uncalibrated mk.1 eyeball. Not to be trusted with spectrum analysis.

Since these are a bit more violet than any of my others it's probably a safe bet that almost any of yours would be higher wavelength. These are spares for my projectors, so we could just do an even swap: My low-wavelength diodes for 2 445nm diodes of your choice from your stash. I'm just worried about maintaining my spares, that's all. If I sell these to you I'll need to buy 2 more, but if we trade we're both taken care of in one transaction.

That would sound good to me :)

What current do you run them at in your projector? If it's quite high, then I'll test the diodes I have first to make sure they can handle that particular current.

I run them at 1.2A, so pretty conservative, and these were briefly tested at that current for maybe a minute or two to make sure that they are up to snuff. During that testing I did all of my 445s together, which was when I noticed that these 2 are slightly more violet than my others. I'd actually prefer to have longer wavelengths for better visibility, so this might easily benefit both of us. I'll PM you my address and you do the same and I'll ship these off to you over the weekend or on Mon. They are both pressed into Aixiz modules IIRC, so let me know if that's going to be a problem.
