WTB: Long cylinder lens

Hello,

I'm looking for a long cylinder lens, several inches long. The kind of lens that is curved on one side, flat on the other. If someone has one or more of these which are 4 to 12 inches long and 1/2 or more inches tall please contact me with the FL.

Still looking for a long cylinder lens to make a laser line with. Intend on paralelling several laser diodes behind it, the longer and wider the better... $$$

I have some laser line cross creating carriages meant for HeNes, but they might work for what you want to do?
 
Thanks for the suggestions, what is a cross creating carriage? Tried googling it, found lots of baby carriages :p
 
It's an adjustable cross generating system I would take a picture and post it but I'm at work right now. Lol.

Basically it's just a pair of dichros with those half cylinder lenses in each direction. They're not terribly big but perhaps you could put a bunch of them in a row? What exactly do you want to do with them?

I'm looking to combine 10 single mode laser diodes in a row shooting through one cylinder lens so their powers add together, using the raw output of the laser diodes and then collimate all of them together through the one lens. I'm planning three rows of ten, one over the other as close as I can get the Aixiz modules. One row of green, red and blue. Because the focal points will be different from one row to the other, being stacked, I will have to have three sections to allow me to adjust each color into their own sharp lines.

Ok, so if i'm understanding this.....a line generating lens wouldn't be optimal, but I can see where you're going with that....they actually make optics specifically for multi emitter diodes and such things though, so perhaps you should ask around. I know I have one for use with 808 diode bars so I can couple them to make green in huge quantities, perhaps you can find something similar? its an odd triangular guide of sorts that couples them all down to come out as a single beam. but building it on a large scale might be very expensive. if you use a half cylinder lens you'll get alot of distortion, but I can see that working if done well. 10 diodes is alot. might be more worth your time to find and invest in a diode bar in the WL you want if it is available. though if you need a long custom half cylinder in optical glass i'm honestly not sure where you could go to get such a thing in a sample of 1. most places only do custom if there's going to be a bulk order of them, since it's costly to do a single piece.
 
I have a box full of half inch diameter optical rods, maybe i should use those instead? I did find a 7.9 x 2.5 inch pcx cylinder lens on ebay and have it in hand, but it is not BK7, a slightly green tinted glass. So, I am still looking for other candidates. I can't visualize the triangle optical device you are referring to but would like to know more, can you link to anything? Although, I really only want r,g,b lines.

Tks, might be worth a try, I found a cheaper one which looks much the same and is the same length, I wouldn't have found it without seeing this link first. I bid on it, have a couple of more days to wait.
