Hi all!

I've ordered one of DTR's 300mw, 650nm diodes and am looking for a driver (flex or buck boost) to drive this diode @ 350-400mA. I lack any sophisticated tuning equipment, etc, so I would like it preset if possible.

Here is the build that this driver/diode are going into.

Thank you for your time.

Thanks DTR! No, I haven't experienced one of Mohgasm's driver. I have seen so many builds featuring them.

Would you mind taking the time to tell me and the other members why these drivers seem to be such good performance? It'd also be a good way to promote a felllow member, rather than a faceless corporation.

You could buy a Flex Drive V5 from Flaminpyro. If you bridge the 2 resisters as shown in the specs http://hacylon.case.edu/ebay/laser_diode/MicroFlexDrive_V5_manual.pdf, you would be in the 100ma - 412ma range. If you don't have a volt meter, you could probably guesstimate where the max output is.

Hope this helps :)

PS: if you haven't slready, you should invest in a good voltmeter and variable test load. All can be under $30 and very useful for this hobby.

There cheap.. If you using a build that uses 2 batteries you may as well use one because of how cheap it is.. You might want to heatsink the driver but.. These do get hot.
