WTB: diode press tool

Im looking to buy a more than flush diode press tool as i have broken pins on two diodes
already using the back of an aixiz housing and c-clamp.

if anybody has one for cheap let me know.

Go to the hardware store & ask for a brass 1/4" barb to barb hose mender. Cost, under $2.00 & works like a charm

The problem might well be the C-clamp, not the back end of the module.

I have never had any problem pushing diodes in using the back of the module using a bench vise... its easier to push things at a normal angle using a vise, and you have more control over distance and force.

If you need something to push further than flush (i wonder why), the hose connector sounds like an interesting option. A C-clamp will still make using it very fiddly though, especially as those create some rotational force with higher applied pressure.

It also assures that the diode is "aligned" with the body of the module and therefore with the lens.

With the violet diode it helps with focus as well.

i was using a c-clamp but the pressure made the aixiz turn and broke of the pins. :'(

I use a nylon circuit board stand-off to press it flush then a replaceable tip screwdriver body (cheap radio shack model) to press it the rest of the way in.
