I'd like to buy some 9mm 980+ nm IR LD ranging 1 to 2W.
I used to buy some from Heruurscieces, but now I heard he had a health problem.

How critical is the wavelength? I have lots of untested diodes but have no way of measuring their wavelength.

Hi. Mariomaster.

I know the danger. I have a plan for the invisible beam tele-communication.
First of all, I know the safety with goggle and camera is important too, but invisible beam must be "visible" at IR camera for the alignment between mountain to mountain.
So I need 980+ nm 1-2w.

I changed 980 nm to 980+ nm..

So you're looking for a diode that is invisible to eye but visible to a camera?

~800nm is well enough into the IR region that there's no way you're going to see a beam by eye even at 1-2 watts. I've got lots in both the 800nm and 900+ nm area. Let me know if you're interested.
