and would the dot or beam be even slightly visible oh and one last thing is this just easily powerd by two aa's or do i need to build a driver thanks in advance

yes that should burn ,and no it will not be visible apart from a very dull red close up. i do not think it would need a driver circuit, as most aixiz lasers allready have one...

Yes. when focused properly, it will be able to burn. Matches, balloons, the whole works. The down side is that you will have a very difficult time seeing it well enough to focus it. The beam will be extremely bright, but so close to the end of the visual spectrum that some cannot see it at all. Whether visible or not, it will still ruin your eyes at the same amazing speed. If you're not familiar with working on IR and near-IR lasers, you may want to consider another option.
