200mW 532nm Green Laser Pointer (Black) - $ 55.30 - Dropshipping, Free Shipping Gadgets on GreatSKU.com

I've been looking for a laser to buy in the UK and i've been hearing about people buying lasers that dont burn because of a thick beam or loose focus, so i was going to spend a little extra and get a focusable one but now i found this 200mw one (twice the power i was getting with the focusable one ) for cheaper but its fixed focus and jsut wanted a second opinion from you guys a to if it will burn and stuff :)

Thanks A Lot

No it won't burn. Green pointers are brighter per mW than others because your eye is more sensitive to the 532nm spectrum.

If you want burning power start with something like a ~200mW 405nm. Don't forget to get yourself some laser safety glasses for the proper spectrum.

Save your money and do some research. ;)

And erm what difference does the Nm make ? and 405nm is a blue laser right? :) Thanks

It will be underspec, or underpowered. It'll be lower than what the site says.

Dishonest? yes, but that's typical chinese business.

Edit: nm is the wavelength or the color of the laser. 405nm is not blue, it is violet. blu-ray =/= blue ;)

So in your best judgement, from this website "greatsku.com" , what laser should i order? ( im looking for something less than £30 but probably more powerful than 100mw :) IT would really help , i have a feeling you're more of an expert :)

thanks alot

Honestly I wouldn't order from there at all. If that were the only place to buy, I'd buy something cheap and low powered, at least they'll be above what you're paying for. if I pay extra for a "200mW" and get 97 I'd be a little mad, however if I pay for a "5mW" laser and get a 68mW laser I'd be happy.
if you're willing to spend a little more money, try lazerer.com or o-like, they're the best options for cheap prices.
Second, if you want a >100mW laser you're going to need safety goggles (suited for the appropriate laser, if you're getting green, you don't want green goggles, right?), which also does cost some extra $$. You can't put a price on something that you can't replace: eyesight.

You want a greenie for cheap can't go wrong with kaidomain... Everyone I've ever received has been a rock higher than specified. Sure it might take a while to get it, but good things come to those who wait.

Don't buy that piece of crap. It will be undespec, and will mostly likely break very quickly.

If you can afford to spend a little more, go with jetlasers, laserglow, optotronics. These companies offer excellent quality and support.

If you want to go with chinese companies, stick to lazerer, skylaser (laserbtb), lasever, o-like, or rayfoss.

Companies are listed in my personal order of preference.

Is it just me or does that look identical to these lasers on Amazon...
QQ-Tech - 650nm, 445nm, 405nm

That set is actually quite good for a beginner as they are way overspec to the point of about 4-6X spec. Granted they are not the quality you would pull from a real pointer but they work and are cheaper for three lasers.
