Just spotted (this) on ebay, and am debating if it could possibly be genuine. The reviews and specifications SEEM to point to this being a high power 445nm laser for only $14 shipped, but I have no idea. If it is real, its probably worth buying just for the diode and driver. Sure it will have a plastic lens, but that can easily be replaced. What are your thoughts?

One thing that is a bit concerning to me is the seller. They only have a total of 3 reviews, and all of them are over a year old.

Also, after reading a few of the reviews, it sounds like the laser is a bit more powerful than the "5mW" they are advertising it to be. But if that is what you are looking for and it's a real deal, then sounds like a steal!

Looks like a scam--that is about OEM cost to make one in China--no feedback seller only 3 sales--free shipping from Texas--30 days money back, buyer pays return shipping ??? LOL

Order one and see--eBay will cover you with buyer protection

that is about cost in China

Wow, is a 1 watt 520 like $50? I'm jealous. The only situation I can think of that would explain this listing is that some ordinary person got hold of a carton of these from china and just decided to get rid of them. That would explain the low price and limited purchases. Despite that, it is odd that there are 10 reviews on that product yet no feedback. I think i'll take the risk knowing I am protected. Just worried about getting a cheap 405 instead, but at that price, it doesn't matter.

You must have missed the scams on eBay in the past several months. There were all sorts of pirated photos on legitimate listings selling for under $10.00 each. Everyone who fell for it had to wait to get their money back and even after it was proven a scam there were more people who decided to try hoping it just might be legit. It wasn't.

I remember the rgb module scam where rgb modules were listed for like $10 and buyers were just sent cheap rgv laser pens. What other scams have been plaguing fleabay as of late?

Will be interesting to see what comes of your order---it is 100% the same as this listing --text, photos etc, except the price is $59.99 https://www.ebay.com/itm/445nm-Focus-Adjustable-Visible-Blue-Beam-Laser-Pointer-Pen-Burn-Match-Batteries/142451977404?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D49477%26meid%3Dd5add2f398f548be9013b2ec7a987003%26pid%3D100623%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D253265199926&_trksid=p2047675.c100623.m-1

Hi ,
You really have to do your home work remember these vendors are in China and use low end components and false advertising. Take three weeks to get here if your luck then if your disappointed and have to send it back another couple of weeks. Then wait for your money forever . Alll the guys here are very savvy when it comes to a crappy deal and will tell you flat out.

Rich:)

Ordered 2, will let you know the results. I have a good amount of experience on ebay if it turns out to be a scam. Will probably be for sale (assuming it arrives and is not doa) in my lpm'd laser thread in a week or two.

Note: I suspect it will be a 405nm diode around 100mW but I guess we will find out

Right you are. Too me, that confirms that this is probably a scam. The only reason I thought this listing *MAY* be real was the reviews, but now that we have seen they have been copied, it is probably not worth the risk. Maybe we'll get lucky? But as many have already stated, these listings usually don't turn out.

Also, thanks to everyone that provided advice on a more reputable listing, but I actually already have two 1w 445nm hhs (See signature). Just posted to make people aware of the possibility.

Could just somebody that want to dump a bunch of them for whatever reasons and just wants to cover the postage and handling---would be very uncommon so I doubt it--for the same amount of work listing a shipping he could get a higher price so...???

Is interesting the seller is from Wylie,Texas.
I had to google that town to see if it was a real town and it is. lol

This has the same picture as a Laser called the THOR H Series Laser for 59.00(its on sale). On LaserPointerStore.com

I'm pretty sure its a scam since that laser has that picture, and that picture belongs to THOR H Series Laser

Those lasers were around long before there was any Thor or laserpointerstore--they are relatively newcomers--and just another "me too" reseller--the pictures everyone uses may be from the actual manufacturer or the resellers may all just take them from each other.

Thor is just another Chinese reseller's marketing name--they do not actually make anything----all they did was market them ---they are just one of hundreds of resellers selling them/the same thing.

Just What I would have said.
