WL core battery question/experiment

I was wondering if I got a AAA sized spacer (dummy) battery, would I be able to use a re-chargeable lithium AAA? or would the 3.6 from the lithium versus the 3.0 from the standard alkaline/NiMh type be too much for the driver/diode to handle?

I did a search a few times so far of WL core mods and regular core searches and couldn't find anything about this. and if it has been asked could someone point me in the right direction? please?

If you are worried about it put a 1N4001 diode down the middle of the spacer, it will drop the voltage a bit, it may get a bit warm as well.......

When I had my CORE, I'd use the Lithiums in something else for a bit, & then put them on my DMM & after the voltage had dropped a bit, THEN used them in my CORE & never had a problem with it ;)

were you using two 3.6v lithiums? or were you using a spacer battery? just curious.
