If green lasers use an IR pump diode at 808nm then goes through a crystal which makes it 1064nm then through a resonant cavity which doubles the wavelength to 532nm. could you remove the crystal and have a blu ray laser cause 808nm through a resonant cavity making 404nm. One more question if you remove the crystal and the resonant cavity you would have the power of the pump IR diode?

No, it doesn't quite work like that. The particular crystal will only double 1064nm. If it worked like that, you would be able to continuously double the wave length until you have a gamma laser. You could double 808 to 404, but that would require another special type of crystal.

But you can remove the crystals and have awesome IR burners

o-like 100mW modules have awesome IR diodes in them...they burn stuff without any lens at all

If you take the crystals out of a green laser, you will still need to rig up some sort of a lens to focus the IR to a burning point. An aixiz lens can be used, but must be mounted somehow. At the level of IR power that this would have, goggles are mandatory. The pump diode in a 50mW green could well be a 500mW unit, or just an overdriven 200mW unit. There are crystals that can directly double 808nm to 404nm, but this is a very inefficient process where multiple watts of 808 only generate milliwatts of 404. There are reasons for this lack of efficiency, among them the rather "messy" emission characteristics of multimode and even multi-emitter 808nm diode bars.

From the Avatar it looks more like Spam and fried egg....:crackup::crackup:

so what would actually happen if you did remove the crystal like said above and left the resonance chamber?

The resonant cavity consists of two specially coated mirrors, one allows 532nm through and reflect 1064nm back through the doubling crystal while the other one allows 1064nm through and reflects 532nm.

This allows for "resonance"; if you where to remove the doubling crystal, you shouldn't get anything.
