Ok, long story short I'm going to be upgrading my phone with Verizon Wireless soon. I'm looking into the Motorolla Droid because I know it can be unlocked fairly easily and would allow me to do what I want to do (WiFi tethering). My confusion comes from the data plans. I know I'm going to need a data plan for this, but my question is which one?

Feature Detail

The one for $29.99 or the one for $44.99? I honestly don't know the difference except one says corporate email and the other doesn't have that. I don't even know what that is. I think the cheaper one will allow me the unlimited data usage, correct?

Please only reply if you're experienced with this. Also, what kind of speeds can I expect since I'm going to be stuck using the 3G network? Thanks.

Look into the Palm Pre Plus. Even easier to "unlock" (since it isn't actually locked at all), even easier wifi tethering.

As far as Verizon's plans, no clue here, sorry.

I have no knowledge of the plans, as for phones, I'd go with the Droid, but as to the tethering question, I do know for a fact that my friend has tethered his computer, which is normally on dial-up, to his Droid, and can play COD:MW2 with no lag online.

I just got the Droid Incredible. I ran a speed check on speedtest.net. The lowest down speed I got was about 1.2 Mbps and the fastest was about 2.6 Mbps. I don't remember what I got for upload speeds.
