Now, while I dont like WL's buisiness model, in genneral, I think we do need to give credit to them for trying to push the envalope with soem of their products. I would love to see a truely waterproof laser, and WL is trying to make that (in theory) which with make otehr companies say "oh we better make one too so we can get a share of that market!" and thus evolution continues.

Also, @ justin: you can probably make it for even less if you jsut get a metal tube and epoxy a window to one end and an o-ring to the other with some kind of switch that's got a "bubble" of rubber over it. some of my 5wm laser I had could have easily been modified like since tehy had a large raised button, wouldnt' even need a new switch, jsut a rubber bubble over it.

LOL @ greg

True, but that destroys the beam and we all know how gorgous a laserbeam looks in the rain or underwater, I've been known to go out it he raid with ym laser in my coatsleve to keep it mostly dry. It would be nice to have full range of motion wiht it though. But I'm not gonna pay 600 for a waterproof laser! lol (may honestly try building a waterproof case/skin/etc for a laser soemtime, I bet tehy would sell well!)

I once had a customer who wanted to take his Aries out in the rain, and after some discussion I honestly recommended a condom!... Non-lubricated of course, but it slips on from the back and provides pretty good protection against all kinds of fluids. Not exactly waterproof, but splashproof would be an accurate way to describe it.

On the other hand, trying to explain what's going on would be difficult when your wife (or whoever) walks in the room to see you slipping it on the laser.

Lol especially if it was a Hercules. Im pretty sure it would lead so some weird questions being asked. Like if your gay, you like lasers to much. and maybe you will just get divroce papers> ;D

This honestly reminds me of a talk I once went to where we had the writer Douglas Adams (Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) give a talk about his life and experiences and one of his stories was him trying to waterproof the microphone for a wildlife documentry about dolphins and they came up with condoms, then there was the whole nightmare of them trying to get some in the backwater town they were in.........

But back to subject, so if i get this right it's basically an Executive with caps set, an o-ring built in at each end and some rubber adhesive around the push button to waterproof it.....

I noticed it was King K (a 15 year old numb nut) That thinks it great to flash blind a friend ::) And looking at all the posts it seems it's all the same WL fanboys that post their constant bullshit. That forum has gone to shit ;D ;D ;D

Here you go a responsible laser user :D

That's the quote I'm talking about. People like him will do a good job making our hobby more difficult. [/quote]
I agree with you hole heartedly abadcaffeinetrip this why I only visit that place from time to time. Most of the sensible members have migrated here instead ;)

So you can get banned from there for mentioning another laser company, but it's ok to say it's great to flashblind a friend and get away with it.

Has the LC moderation gone completely mad , or are they so far up someones arse they dare not say so???

This comes to mind again.

Jase

Well I am glad you posted in their forum!

This crap WL's is pulling will subject them, or others that buy this stupid product, to a lawsuit if anyone gets eye damage on account of their deceptive marketing. And it will not matter where they are located when that happens. But just as bad is the image they are giving the hobby, and it will be another reason for the govt. to get involved possibly banning lasers. I hope WL, and TL, goes down the tubes in a hurry..they both deserve to.

After reading all the deception and sour marketing of these two companies, I am actually beginning to like that warnlaser dude.. ;D

I started over on that forum, I was quickly overwhelmed by the romper room type spam comment posts.

I watched one member make over 60+, 5 worded post in less than half a day.
I have also watched good posts inquiring about TechLasers new products just VANISH! It was a good post asking about the quality of there products, I guess they felt threatened by it for some reason...

Anyways, I'm glad to have found this place.

This pic I found had me in tears the last time I posted it.. So enjoy.
