Wicked lasers EVO Help!

Don't have one but maybe it has something to do with the smart switch being locked?

Edit: nice evo!

You may have a problem with the laser as you can see violet light being emitted at 0:25-0:26. This is IR, and as you have no green being emitted, it could mean you have a misaligned laser. To rule this out, after you have started up the laser, press and hold to cycle the power. If no green emits then contact WL.

Also, a safety note. I would not of noticed this if you didn't shine the laser towards yourself. Luckily the laser is only emitting low level of IR in its current mode. But this is a hazard none the less. Low levels or IR will not be visible to your eye. Be careful.

I have attached a image for you showing the IR emission.

As a friend on this forum,
PLEASE DO NOT STARE INTO THIS LASER WHEN ON, I DO NOT WANT TO SEE ONE OF OUR MEMBERS GO BLIND!
IR IS DANGEROUS AS YOU CAN DAMAGE YOUR EYES WITHOUT REALISING.

Help!
OOooch, hoping I am wrong, but I've got a couple of Evo's with that same problem. Let me know of you come up with something and I will likewise. If your looking for someone to r&r it, I might know someone if them and you are interested? That is one of the saddest site on LPF, an "I don't want to come to life laser" bummers!:yabbem:

Could be a dead (zombified) diode too, or damaged crystals/crystal coatings instead of misaligned crystals.

+rep for the safety warning! :)

Thanks buddy!

Eh the smart switch is just to turn it on really.. Doesn't really shut it down if you get me.

Thanks pal but it's not IR it's just the lens itself gives off a purple/pink hue ! I've taken note of what you said tho!! Wow.. Blinding yourself and not even know you're doing it!! Definitely +1rep for the best advice I've probably gotten!!

I don't to be honest cause I dont have an EVO:o, but I did read a couple experiences that sounded about the same, but their issue was because the laser was locked. If you did the (3) fast clicks then (2) slow clicks and it still hasn't came unlocked then there's a problem! I wish you luck bro, there's nothing worse than having a laser paperweight!

Got on to WL themselves so waiting for a response! It's only a month old so they can have it back if there's anything major wrong with it!! Not giving up on her yet tho👍🏻
Let me know if you find a solution and I'll let you know what WL say

As I've said to BobMc it's less than a month old so it will be getting a first class ticket back to them 👍🏻😂

Oh man I didn't know you had it for a month. That really sucks!! Hopefully they will take care of it for you bro

I am so glad it didn't turn out to be Ir but with any DPSS you have to be careful. I hope you can get your laser resolved with WL Massie.

Just to satisfy my curiosity. The camera picks up a violet light that CurtisOliver identifies as IR. Is this the camera that is showing it this way? As most of us know, 808nm shows up as a dark red to the eyes. 1064nm is invisible.

Hey pal, na it's just the glass lens itself.. Even to the naked eye in your hand there's a purple hue off the glass
