I have a 100mw laser I purchased from a company. I have been very impressed with it and it measured 90mw but decided to get hold of some more preferably more powerful so I looked at wickedlasers and this is my experience.

I ordered an elite 150mw from Wickedlasers.com and when it arrived, I measured it. It was 95mw resting at 90mw. I was very surprised and dissapointed so I emailed them. After 1 week of communications, and only after opening a paypal dispute, they agreed to refund my money. There reason? see below copy of thier email:

All Elites series are fully tested; however, there was a mix up when the laser was shipped. Our shipping department had shipped you a wrong laser. We are very sorry for this incident. We will replace your laser with Elite 150 plus that is up to specs. I will personally make sure that you receive one with 175mW.

Again we are very sorry for this incident.

Now ebay item: 120190569294 which was previousely listed that I had won. I called to see the guy in Hoddesdon with my equipment and it should have been 100mw but measured 55mw! He had two there and the other measured 57mw. When I showed him my 100mw and he was surprised. needless to say we agreed not to go ahead with the sale and it is now relisted, he was very good about it.

Now the big one. I have just purchased wickedlasers GX 200mw - 300mw ebay item: 300179965433
Yes I won it and have it here now. I have measured it and it is 175mw! I have decided to keep it but did expect more. Also the beam is quite wide and so does not burn as well as my 100mw.

My overhaul opinion is that wickedlasers lasers are all underpowered and if measured correctly will not show the power that they should be. My trust 100mw was the only laser outputting the correct power.

By the way, I used a thorlabs tester, I use it for my business and it cost me £1000 and was calibrated 6 months ago.

By the way, I tried to post this on the wickedlaser site but they would not allow it so thier forum is very biased

if you so much as glance at WL the wrong way you get banned from the forum

ummmm, yeah, don't ever buy from wicked, unless its for goggles, cores or accesories, the rest is crap

Still, if you actually get a 175mW elite then that will be pretty cool. If you don't re-open the dispute.

thank you for the details, kimhart!

exact readings and comparisons are a bit rare, unfortunately, with the lack of real powermeters. your input is much appreciated!
i didnt buy any greens besides one from kaidomain, and am definitely well warned to be careful!

oh, and to be the first: welcome to the forum! i am relatively new here too, and like it a lot! unbiased, open, friendly, i am sure you will like it too. enjoy your stay! :-)

Thank you for the nice welcome.
I was just really surprised that a company with such a professional website and beautifully designed housings for thier lasers would do this and refused the replacement as I did not believe they would send a laser of that power that would last.

Yep >:( I found that out the other day :D

Sorry to hear about the lasers dude... all I can say is "Wicked is a pile of doggie do". I hope you get a good replacement elite.

All I have to really say is that I'm not surprised in the results of what happened to you. That's a good trick for noobies though, say they shipped the wrong unit and make them have to pay for return shipping. :D

Isn't surprising, they know 99% of their users have no clue so they take advantage of them.

Well I posted this topic on the wickedlasers forum and guess what????

Yep you guessed, it was removed.

They don't allow anything negative on thier forum!

yeah nova is the way to go there customer sopport is insain they even made me a video of my laser poping ballons and infront of the reader!!

thats the problem with a good counterfeit.... it has to look like the original or it fools nobody......
Once upon a time WL was ok, but they have degraded into deception, trickery, broken promises and scamming, they won't even let you talk about a competitor without banning you... let alone talk bad about an experience you had....

Its "total control" of the media and its all about "perception sells" rather than reality.

Someone should take them to trading standards or something if the output is not within the stated range over a large number of products.

Ya right .. there in China... they make it bad for the few companies over there who try to be honest.. .. I said "few"
