Wicked Laser Core Question/Problem

Ok so my Core that i just got has this weird ring type fuzzy effect around the dot.

It also has a wave a few centimeters away from the beam. Its hard to explain, i got some pics, kinda hard to see the wave though.

Whats the problem or is this normal?? :-/

Looks like your lens is dirty. Use their prescribed cleaning method to clean it, or buy a lens pen.
 
i guess its ok for now, but if it gets worse, it probably will over time, then ill buy a microfiber cloth and clean it :)
 
ah wait, wicked lasers says use a microfiber cloth on a toothpic to clean the lense

Dragon lasers made a video that says microfiber damages the lense, he uses compressed air or lense pen. Does compresed air work well?

The core cap to get to the lense is stuck on, so i have to use something to get into a little hole
 
I don't know about microfiber damaging lenses, but it would certainly explain how I scratched my Fusion's lens with a super-soft microfiber cloth. As for compressed air, the only thing it will remove is dust or dirt particles that are on the lens, which you could remove by blowing on it.
 
Never blow on the lens. If a tiny spec of saliva hits the lens you end up with waterspots.

I only ever used one cleaning method on my Wickedlaser Fusion 125mW, and that's the toothpick + microfiber method. It's even the method they tell you to use in their little booklet. Well, despite having my Fusion in its dragon case whenever it wasnt in my hand, and despite using their cleaning method, the lens ended up with a huge scratch eventually, so I would say yes, it's very possible that a microfiber will scratch your lens. Get a lenspen instead.
 
I don't think the cloth itself scratched the lens.It's very possible that you had some relatively large dust specs on your lens and just moved it around the lens' surface when you tried to clean it.That sounds more plauzible to me ::) That's why you should use compresed air before anything else.
 
I came up with a very simple solution to cleaning my lasers lenses. Do this at your own risk but for me it works like a charm. I take a vaccum and point my laser into the tube part so that it is sticking in the tube about half an inch. I then turn on the vacum for about one second. Try it at ur own risk. also, if your vaccum has a low setting, use that.

No offence, but, that for sure sounds like stupidest thing to do in order to clean a lense. Just adds dust from vaccum and can do lense damage. If it works for you its great tho :P
 
found a microfiber cloth lying around my house, tried using it to clean lense and toothpick, but it didnt do anything, looks exacly the same

Not sure if i actually touched the lense tho, since the hole is soooo small to reach the lense :P
 
It actually works better than anything I have ever tried and I have had a lot of lasers. I tried it as a last resort on my 95mW pen from WL which was about 2 years old. I wouldn't have risked it otherwise. It had such bad dust that I thought it had mode hopping issues. It was fixed immediately.

And what happens when your hand slips :D


Get a LensPen , they work great, just make sure to first blow off any dust with a light spray of compressed air.
