Which diode?

So I will be buying my first high-powered blu-ray diode soon.

However, there are so many models I am having trouble deciding which one is best for what I am looking for.

I know that 12x's are known to output roughly 700mW at 500mA (the current I will be driving it at [actually 508mA, but whatever]), but aren't there some suspected "10x" LDs that are as strong as 12x LDs? I have taken a look at that chart of many 12x's, and it is rather confusing....

Further, I was looking at the BW512L sled (because I was told it was cheapest?) and it was supposedly ~$32 at PSXBOY.com or whatever the website was. Now, most of the other sleds are $50+. Is the BW512L sled crappy? Or are their multiple versions of that sled?

And what's the different between a SF-BW512 sled and a BW512L sled? Nothing? That's what I think, but I am not sure.

Finally, I am looking at the BDR-S06J sled because, even though it's the most expensive, I also hear it is the "best" for power-output and ability to not crap out at 508mA.

So, suggestions (and links, if possible?). I am hoping to order from within the U.S. so I don't have to wait a month to complete this build (have had the host/driver/etc. set up for about two weeks now).

And one more thing: I *will* pay more for a sled that contains a 5.6mm red LD as well (an SOC?), because I hear that the LiteOn sleds have crappy plastic flat-pack red LDs, and I always use all the LDs in all sleds I get.

And do any of these sleds have IR diodes, too?

The only sleds that contain a SMOC witch is 3.Xmm red diode that is not the plastic type are the BDR-205 12x and i think the BDR-203 8x burners. They dont sell just sleds. You have to buy the burner just like i did way back.

No 12x sled contains a 5.6mm red.

Go with the BDR-S06J. The SFB-W512 In my experience are not that great. They are very sensitive to back reflection and do not put out as much power compared to the BDR-S06J does.

I was getting at 425mA, ~580mW with the G1. Others have reported similar results.

On my new BDR-S06J at 500mA its putting out 760mW with the G1.:D

Hmm, alright. Thanks for the suggestion.

Know of anywhere that I can find the cheapest BDR-S06J sled that ships from within the US?
