Where to get power supply's?

Got my stuff today. Didn't get home until almost 2AM but the first thing I did was build this:

Only took me like 30 minutes to gather together all the stuff and put it together. All I had that was small enough and straight for the rails were some pieces of bus bar. One copper and one aluminum. Might have to get something bigger. That index card is to cover the spark gap because its pretty bright. Unfortunately these things are extremely loud (I remember from my first try) so I cant test it at 3 in the morning.

Also I bought that nst :)

The arc electrodes need to be elevated slightly off of the capacitor plates as being in close proximity to the dielectric will rapidly degrade the dielectric due to coronal heating. A couple mm is all that is needed.

Generally aluminum angle is used for the electrodes and one wraps wire around the base side in order to "prop" up the arcing edge.

I've just built a 20kv 500 watt power supply for a CO2 laser project of mine, I wound my own flyback for it. You could do that for the 6kv, or use a cockroft walton voltage multiplier on the end of something like a microwave oven transformer or high voltage plate transformer.
