Where to get a blue laser diode?

I would like to make a ~300-350mW 455 laser. I've read tutorials and stuff and they are pretty much all for 1w+ lasers. I do not wish to make a laser with this sort of power. I have looked for diodes and they all seem to be used for such powerful builds or are too big or something. I need a 5.6 mm LD. Can anyone recommend a proper diode and the appropriate voltage to supply it? I would like to use this driver:

You could resolve this with a better search. But, seeing as you did some homework, I will help you out.

You can use the M-140 445nm diodes. While they are capable of +3W, there is no need to drive them that hard. As this diode is readily available through members of the forum, without having to ship internationally, it is a good choice. If you can find a cheap A-140 around some place, you can drive that at a low power as well.

Considering your knowledge and apparent skill set, I'd suggest buying a pre-adjusted driver in the range you're looking for. A good linear or boost can be had pretty cheaply.

You MUST understand that even at these power levels, you MUST use eye protection with a laser of this power range. These can also be found with a quick forum search.

Thank you for your help :) I have experience with lasers and how they work, just not with making them. I am fully aware of their danger to the eyes and have already bought eye protection. I know how to set a driver but am wondering if the one I linked to is as good as a flex drive. Can I use the lens in an AiXiZ module with these diodes at my desired output? I believe they are acrylic and not glass.

Those are all questions that are easily answered by more research on the forums. It will be time consuming and not easy, but nothing worthwhile ever is.
