I'm looking for cheap and safe IR laser glasses. (808nm)
Ebay doesn't give good results..there are some model with no OD value and I'm concerned about these glasses
I need some suggestions where to buy enough safe glasses to play with 2W 808nm IR laser and don't want to throw lot of money.

Check out OEM LASER SYSTEMS MODEL ML-7 These goggles give protection for almost any laser you are likely to use, including IR. If you just want IR protection ONLY, I think that O-LIKE sells them, but I have no experience with them...........rob

ML-7 are too expensive for me.
Even olike glasses are still expensive for me..47USD shipped.
I'm looking for cheap glasses, like 30USD shipped.

Is this possible to find?

Good find....but...

"OD>2.5 for 200-400nm, OD>3 for 750-850nm"

Is it enough safe to play with 2W laser?

I'm not the right person to ask that :P.

I have a pair of my own, the safty glasses for green lasers.
They are extremly effective for my 150mw aurora and also worked just fine with a friends 350mw green laser. Ofcourse a 2W laser packs a bigger punch.

Why don't you just give them a call/chat and ask them about their product? ;)

Try checking out this website. IR goggles for $35.00
I copy/pasted this web address so I don't know if the misspelled words are there on purpose or by mistake ???????? Hope this helps you out.........rob
Here's another one
Safety Glasses USA
Or you can just type in "IR LASER GOGGLES" in the GOOGLE search engine & do some research. I found some you can make yourself for $10.00, but I know I wouldn't trust MY eyes to what they described. NO NO NO !!!!!!!!!!

If you want them cheap..

eBay
There is no OD value.

How much do you value your eyesight ?????
That much that I don't want to damage my eyesight :D
I bought all things to make IR laser and paid less than $60 for everything.
As you can see...I don't have lot of money to afford expensive goggles.
Just need cheap goggles that will protect my eyesight.

Shipping cost:
US$18.00 (Euro 12.24)

Too much for shipping...

And if OD+ Value is 3, that means that maximum amount of light that can go through goggles is 2mW, and I think that is safe for direct reflection and definitely safe for diffuse reflection .

Good find but they don't ship to Bosnia.
Diy solutions are not safe at all...

And Safety Glasses USA are way too expensive

After all, glasses from zonestealth looks like best buy.
http://www.laser2go.com/808.htm
Only 29USD shipped :D
I contacted them and asked for OD value and they told me it's OD4.
Now I'm very suspicious about this glasses.
Mostly IR (808nm) glasses are OD2 or OD3 and how can cheap glasses provide OD4 protection?

However...I asked him if this value is approved or he just thinks it's OD4 so he can fool buyer.

The question you need to ask him is "ARE THEY CERTIFIED ?"....................rob

If he hadn't mentioned that on his website so they are not certified definitely

He is not responding to my e-mails, it's most likely that he sells low quality glasses.
