Whats a duty cycle?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but all I have is greens, so I just thought it'd be appropriate to ask here.

Pretty much, what is a duty cycle and a cooldown cycle on a laser? whats it do?

And if there isn't one listed on the website, how can I find out the duty cycle?






sidenote, how good is the quality of dinodirects lasers?

Duty Cycle is the ratio of the time on and the time off. Some lasers cannot be run in a continuous mode, because it overheats and has to cool to avoid damage to the lasers components. The manufacturer will list the duty cycle to avoid damaging the laser.
