What to point laser at that WON'T burn?

You'd be surprised what 2W of tight 445nm can do to a white surface. Got a few good scorch marks on my blinds (heavy, white plastic) from a 2W 445 (2x A140, knife edge, prism corrected) that was sitting across the room.

Holy cow! I’m surprised that is hasn’t burned my wall, maybe I don’t leave it on long enough. You definitely got a point, if the energy builds up too much it could start to burn :/

You also have to remember that the watch guys ceiling fan that was burn't by that aweful, abortion, pathetic, ugly, cheap flashlight parts connected to one another, with that nothing special CPU AL sink, cheap $1 Nasa:whistle: style switch, Thors hammer monstrosity thing, that he posted a Utube video and deleted all comments because he can dish it but not take it, and is he has nothing to contribute to the world, was also white..;)

Once you get up to the level of a watt or more many ordinary things do not make good beamstops any longer... i have some burnmarks/holes in my wallpaper and drapes as well :D

But otherwise as suggested: something that doesn't burn, and isn't shiny/reflective, a dark coloured rough brick/tile would do just fine.

White wallpaper doesn't fare that well with higher power lasers: it reflects most of the light, but once it starts to char it gets darker and absorbs more and more, resulting in a burn mark quite quickly. This doesn't set your house on fire immediately or anything, but it doesn't look that good either :D
