As far as i remember, that machine was a chemical reaction analysis unit ..... it was working using mid-infrared spectroscopy for monitor and analyze chemical reactions in real-time ..... and also require a PC and specifical software, for work.
Don't know exactly, anyway, the wavelenghts that it uses ..... but must be low power, cause it was made for analyze chemical reactions in real-time without influence them in any way ..... still must contain some decent optics, if you're interested in these things (i suppose it's the optical module, in the pictures ..... there was also a second box as control unit, plus the PC and other things, in a complete unit)
