It also can remove dead and dying skin parts so only healthy skin remain

Ok, now I'm just embarrassed for you... Although I wonder what someone would look like without any dead skin.

...The products themselves don't help either.  With some places claiming things like "with the Q1000 Laser, light is sent through quartz crystal, which gives the laser organic characteristics" I'm pretty darn skeptical.  The fact that many can't even be sold in the United States makes me worry too...

Dude you are killing me. And I believe someone would actually pass laser light through a quartz crystal and call it organic. I just love the ignorance of "organic". Someday the last of the hippies will die off and we will be free. I guess my first question is why the garnet (sapphire) substrate crystal used to create the laser beam has no "organic" characteristics. C'mon hippies answer me that! To quote a famous hippie hunter, "Ma'am, it all starts with a small hippie drum circle"

cartman ;D

But, perhaps your anger is misdirected towards blatant capitalists posing within an almost extinct culture in an attempt to make them seem more down to earth/spiritual and in touch with
nature, nothing wrong with wanting to spread love and peace :-/ Not all hippies went on to promote herbal toothpaste you know... ;)

But organic lasers are just as bad as herbal toothpaste or cherokee hair tampons, if not worse :D

Well, I'm no hippie , but I would guess it's because aluminum oxide is a non-organic compound. :-/

As for the initial topic, all I can say is that I need a pretty good explanation of why something like this works before I try it.

Well, I've managed to know how acne curing works:

So If you had/have acne you know that spots can be painful... that's because some cell are attacked by p.acnes bacteria and it became sensitive against mechanical effects. If you point at the skin with your laser you feel your skin gets warm. That concentrated heat kills the bacteria attacked cells then the light goes more deep and deep in your skin so the spot isn't cured only surfacewise . That is because pain goes away: sensitive cells are killed. Therefore there are damaged and killed cells your body think that it is as serious as an open wound and starts producing collagen to make a new layer of skin, leucocyte not that get infected and it just kills the few bacteria that could alive the laser.

And because the new skin layer is already made when the spot goes away there's no scar remains
