Wow! I would love to get something like that. Thanks for posting that, although I hate dealing with Ebay auctions. The only way I do anything on there anymore is BIN.

DrSid, my wife picked up a business card from the lady at the flea market. I'll send you an image of it. You may try to contact her and see if she will give up her source for the beads. I assume you will have to track down a few companies as I doubt she is getting them straight from your country, but it might help get you a line on where to get the stuff a little more local to you.

If anyone else wants it, just let me know. I don't want to post it here in public. She doesn't have a website, but I'm sure she would be willing to sell beads to anyone wanting them. At the very least if you are in the US she should be able to let you know if she will be in your area for another flea market.

Good for you man. He put it up for me, but I forgot to tell him I wanted clear. The reason why no one else caught it is because he the title says "UraniumGlowing". This way it would not come up in a search for uranium glass, and would give me time to snag it.

I also found of that the Czech government does not have an agreement with the American government ti import uranium glass. People are still getting some through, but its the main reason you dont see more stuff.

$10 for 3 X 5/8 marbles??? Thats a rip off. I bough 100 X 5/8 marbles off eBay for $17 a few months ago. You just have to keep looking.

I may or may not found a source for marbles. If it works out I'll spread some out to the community here. I'll keep you updated.

Good call Jake. I didn't even know he stocked them. I still had a little trouble finding them on the website until I did a "List all Items".

@TJ: Cool. Hope your source works out. I'd love to get some clear 1" crackled ones if you manage to get enough. I've been wanting to build something like JayRob's marble nightlight for the longest time.
 
Good news, the 1" clear marbles came in. Bad news, the quality is not great. They have some air bubbles, and forming defects on the exterior of the marbles. Not sure if they will crack well or not.

If anyone wants the 10 I bought they are $45 shipped in the CONUS.

Can you test how hot they are ? Counts per minute and size of Geiger tube is all I need to know.

I'm sure you're gonna love it. I hadn't had a chance to check back in and post the pics of the one I got. My wife and I liked it so much we have 2 more large chunks of it coming. (He will combine shipping if you ask, but there is a 12lb limit on the small shipping boxes I think)

I'll post pics in a little bit, jut got to get them uploaded first.

I should also add, this guy packaged things very well and shipped supper fast. I got mine in 3 days I think. That's AZ to IN, so for you, I'd bet you have it in 2 days or less.

I can't imagine you will have these long. If you still have them after another payday (my bank account seriously needs to recover), I may take them then. I'll check back with you later.

I heard they can with the crackled balls. Im sure this thing would put off some to.

For some reason I thought you were asking TJ about the marbles.

It's as hot as one of the plates in the original post, maybe even a little more. It bounces around abunch but it comes in close to .3 on the meter I have access to. Maybe a little higher. Certainly not dangerous levels by any means but respectable none the less.
