So I ripped apart an old boombox and put the speakers to good use

This was made using LaserLine on my mac it's a simple spirogram, this was the best picture I could take, even better than the ones with the flash off, oh well.

I made this video, but the laser is too dim to see the big circle just the small loops rotating around.

This project was kind of rushed. I found out about Laserline yesterday and wanted to give it a try. I will take more pictures when I have a better laser. These were all taken with a $5 pointer from Radio Shack. If the postal service hasn't made a mistake my diode from senkat should be here tomorrow, I already have my driver made and boxed up just waiting for the diode.

If/When I remake this. I will get real mirrors, the one's I used here were some chromed plastic pieces that were shielding some parts inside an old cordless phone. Brighter laser. I need better speakers. I would probably buy something with a higher excursion. The amp has enough power for something bigger, but these speaker just don't move enough.

The problem is I can only turn the speakers so loud before they start distorting and making the laser blurrier than it already is. That's why I need a better laser, real mirrors, and better speakers.

From about 15 feet away I can only make about a 6 inch image. Hopefully with my senkat diode I can find somewhere I can project it from further away.

If your mirrors have finger prints or anything on them then it will make the dot blurry.

and if they aren't of good quality, it will be blurred aswell. Good luck with it!

Glue the mirrors on to lever, fulcrum and cone to amplify beam panning!
You got to have bigger speakers too for more travel.

I saw a laser speaker/mirror lightshow on TV 37 years ago. The TV program was called Tube Trip, a weekly hippie 30 min. progressive rock radio station sponsered deal. it was so cool back then. KSHE FM used to just play album sides and had just 5 min per hour of non music.

I sort of have some lever action going on, but because the drinking straw I used is much larger than the axel the bottom of the mirror is still able to move too much...

Still not 100% happy, but I glued some 1" square craft store mirrors over my shiny plastic and now I have finished my senkat diode laser.
