Well, that R22 IS attached at ground, so there's no problem there - wouldn't damage anything (except maybe the battery). The problem arises when the negative line touches the negative in.

Unfortunately, these boards are even a bit too big WITHOUT a spacer. How would I fit an extra mil in there? :P

And no, I am not trying to connect it from the top. It's just, due to the nature of the pill, there is a lip that gets a bit closer to the components on the board on the inside....

Anyway, I am designing my own board so that I don't have to deal with this bull**** anymore... continuous on the negative, boost driver... but alas, it will probably not come to fruition.
 





A thin layer of quick set epoxy would eliminate your grief with this board.
Apply a thin coat, or just use a dremel to make accommodations for the raised
edge.

If you work with a boost driver, you're almost guaranteed that you will not
blow any diodes.. food for thought.

A direct shot of voltage and current from a single 18650 cell does not have the ability
to overshoot as when working with >8.4v and a few amps. This is one of the
chances you take when using a buck driver.

Take your time on any builds and always check your clearances surrounding
the point where the driver is mounted. A simple review of the setup will save
you 50$ per mistake.
