Purchased their flagship model 7.5watt Blue laser they sent me the wrong model. And ended up returning it back to them and paying shipping cost. Have yet to receive my $700 Blue Laser from them back! Will be pursuing legal action!!

I totally understand how mad you are.. $700 is no joke but I can't find a laser on their site that cost that much except the RGB units.

Opening a membership here just to cut them down on your first post isn't well liked at least to me and probably a few others.
Look at other threads about issues with Sanwu. For some reason they ship the wrong laser out once in a while.
Charging you shipping for returning the wrong laser is not right. They will most likely credit you that money as its possibly automaticly generated when a return happens.

How long has it been? Give us that info. China shipping is slow and they screen just about everything.
When you do get the laser you ordered, you will be impressed.

I know Sanwu has an office in Oregon but aren't they a Chinese company based in China? How would someone take "legal action" against them?

There's definitely something fishy about Sanwu. The customization option lets buyers select between single-mode and multi-mode, even for lasers rated at several watts. Here's an example: https://sanwulasers.com/product/challengerii

However, my understanding is single-mode diodes are generally still limited to the sub-watt range.

Isn't the difference only between the On/Off and the low, medium, high, Strobe and SOS switch function?

Eaxactly right.
Sanwu is not meaning multimode and single mode diodes.
Sanwu is giving you a choice of power switch type,---single-operation mode or multi-operation mode
If you scroll down on the product web page the 2 different switch types are very clearly explained.

Ah, good catch. "Single-mode" certainly has a different meaning when you're interested in the technical details of a laser. :)

If it were up to me, I'd have used something like "Single function" instead.

It’s very common for it to be described multimode. It’s multiple modes of operation. It’s just unfortunate we have lasers described by their transverse modes in the same way.

This does not sound like the Sanwu I know. I once bought one of their beam expanders and, in short order, proceeded to scratch the input lens, Sanwu bent over backwards to help me out and sold me a replacement lens even though that is not something they normally sell on its own...

They really saved me from my own stupid mistake!:D(y)
