Hello all.
I have finally ordered the parts for my blu-ray laser, so I wish to begin a new project.

I have heard of LPC red diodes being used for lasers.Could someone direct me on what mA I need for the driver, and all of the other things it would need to make it burn a match.

NOTE:
DO NOT TELL ME TO TRY THE SEARH BUTTON
I tried 7 times. Here are the search terms I used.
laser LPC-815
LPC diode
LPC laser build
LPC-815 red laser
LPC-815 burning laser
DIY LPC-815
laser DIY LPC

How strong do you want it, you could always get a focusable 200mw dilda from o-like for about 47 dollars

The diode in an LPC-815 sled is referred to as a "long open can" diode... Replace your search terms with "LOC" and you should have better luck.

Anyways, these are generally set to around 420mA, which should give around 250mW, or as high as 300mW with a glass lens. It doesn't take much to burn a match, you should be able to do it with 100mW easily.

Of course, you'll need an aixiz module to provide a housing and a thread for the lens, you'll need a driver to provide a fixed current, and you'll probably want batteries and a host for it. The rkcstr and DDL drivers need 7-12 volts, and drlava's flexdrive needs 3-5v, so keep that in mind when selecting batteries and a host.

heh buy one of my kits set at 420mA (see my signature below for link)
and then head on over to modwerx.com and buy a diode already pressed into a module for $17.99 and you have everything.

I cant afford the kits...srry.
I wish the tutorials using flashlights hosts would be easier to understand.
