Sorry I have no idea what you just said..
The way most people on this forum throw around points is a joke. It mocks people like Dave who work their arss off and deserve the points. To give a point because your "cool' or "you tell stories good' is a slap in the face to people like Dave, Igor, and the others who work hard for theirs. The system is suppose to be for achievements and negligence. But I guess children must play...

Rep points are the direct equivalent of the size of ones laser related e-shlong.

In principle they are a way of determining, if a seller is reputable and will not go back on a deal or try to scam. Though they are in no way an absolute measurement of ones integrity and have as such been the topic of much controversy.

When the points first started on LPF, long before it was a full blown flea-e market, reps were primarily given to those who helped by sharing useful info. It sorta merged into an ebay type thing shortly after.

An example of such would be my first rep point.. IgorT had given me +1 for sharing tips from my DPSS experiance. Others given for making a good point in thread, some for inspiring get up and go.

Some members have rep for simply regurgitating helpful links, being funny, and some for sales. Everyone gets rep for whatever it is that they contribute. So while it may be flawed in some ways, not everyones rep is pointeless. It just seems that all of us have a few points in their rep that are useless, but they still tell a story and reflect the history of each member.

I dont think the system was put in place for sellers only, this is a forum of learning and reckognizing the help people give.

Just my thought of course..

I agree with wannaburn... the majority of the feedback comments reflect
the integrity and some past history of the member... IMHO
I make an effort to not get Neg Repped by trying to treat members with respect
and contributing to the Forum when I can...
(I admit... sometimes I have my off days... just like anyone else...)

When I deal with someone on LPF... the Rep and number of Posts  of that member
helps me to determine what I can expect...
It is not a precise system... but IMO we are better with it than without it...

It's too bad that some members decide to abuse it.... :'(
