Video: Laser Letter Opener - Heh!

So I saw these two videos on YouTube showing bunnies opening up letters:

Which made me think, "Hmm, my laser can do that!"

Thats not a bad idea! Ill have to try it with my 6X when I get it :eg:

I wouldn't recommend doing it on a wide letter (card) like I did. If you watch the video closely you can see the laser actually flash off 2 times as I open the letter due to the driver circuit overheating. If I were to do the demo again I would use a standard size letter preferably made of darker paper. If you follow those guidelines your experience should be agreeable.

Thanks! Yes, 1 watt is probably not enough power to make this technique too viable!

No, actually not, because the laser beam was focused fairly tightly at the burn point whereas on the ground it was fairly wide.
