It drives me crazy that I must wait 25-30 seconds between each spam post that I report. It took me 4 minutes to report 8 posts. It should have taken less than a minute.

Wow, I wasn’t aware that one had to wait between reporting spam posts. That’s crazy!

I have always wanted to go visit it! But other wise, I’m just fascinated by life up North. I’m thinking of maybe living in Newfoundland or in Canada later on

Avery, please put a block on new members posting links until they reach 50 posts or so. This will help a little with the spam problem. Some will give up if they can't post links, and some will break the links up and try to bypass it of course. But it can be done on xenforo.

Thanks Alex, I looked up xenforo and ways to help fight human spam.

Within the XenForo program, URLs in a thread "Title" can also be blocked/rejected.

Would get rid of most of the spam as most all of it in recent times has a URL in as the title.

I PMed Avery about implementing that and gave "how to" links a well back on 24 Sept.
Guess he didn't look at doing that yet or it didn't work for whatever reasons

I feel like the amount of spam is ridiculous guys. I always wake up to having to delete at least 5+ threads

I have seen a dozen one after the other early AM.

The Mods have been doing a great job of getting rid of it but it must be a taxing task after a whiile. Is like a disease the number of SPAM threads per week.

Hap:
Have the Mods as a group approached Avery and let him know how out of control/bad the "keto" and other SPAM with URL Titles is?
That it is ruining LPF, and asked him to turn on the XenForo anti spam features and/or get an anti-spam filter that block posts with URLs in the Title?
I PMed him on 24 Sept---didn't see any change. Will do again and see if he responds.

I just PMed him again---would imagine it would be a good idea for the Mods to speak up about the problem and maybe he will look into filtering them URL Title SPAM threads out if he can.
