Are you a beginner? What are you using this stuff for? Advanced projects? Basics?

Velleman is known as pretty good quality, but they can be a little pricey in some areas.

yea bro, im barely getting started up..
im looking around for the best option right now pretty much..

One of the Mods or maybe it was admin at *********** laser forum- sells those at their forum-
I did an impluse buy of a Velleman soldering station-VTSS5
it was cheap at 29.00$ only to find out it was worth more like-15$

-Box sez 50W- 'greenmechanic' metered it for me and said they LIE.
Its very slow to re-heat and made in China-
another OLder and better brand is Weller-iirc- this looks to me like china wannabe -- copycat. But maybe since then (~4 yrs ago) thier stuff became better. I got an old beat up Hak and love it. anyone wanting this barely used Velleman can have it for 25$ shipped to USA. Its a good one for non-serious soldering, I guess..

I would read up a lot before popping that much$$

also-- one drawback on all-in-one items IS: if one part fails and needs to go away to be fixed you are now out of the other two parts of the set-up.

good luck--hakzaw
