OK, as i'm old and fairly new to this internet stuff:o maby this thread can help a few of us with some silly questions on how to get around this forum.

Example, how can I just quote just some partial wording of someones post instead of the whole quote? or multi quoting posts with some of my usual nonsense after each one?

Another one, is I used to get automatic subscribed threads just by even looking but lost that after I had an issue with my "Email":thinking:getting constant bombardments with updates with every new post on my subscribed threads and I had Avery help stop it but now like I mentioned they don't subscribe and can't see a way to like I thought I used to?

To partially quote statements, just use the quote button to qoute the whole text and then delete what you don't want re-quoted. Just like you do when you're creating your own posts, you can just edit out whatever you don't want.
This also works to just re-quote someones text, and not all the photos.

The following is from the FAQ section at the top of the page:

"If you want to post replies to multiple posts you can select them by clicking the multi quote button Multi quote. This button will change to indicate that you've selected it. Clicking post reply will then bring you to the full editor with all the posts quoted."

Edit: Take a look in your "User CP" , and go to "edit options", under the "Messaging & Notification" section go to "Default Thread Subscription Mode". You can select if you want e-mail notifications or not.

Hope some this helps, there are probably other ways to do some of these things, I'm sure some other members will add their expertise. :yh:

Bowtie my first test "finger's crossed":o

Edit; success sort of?! It didn't show you as quoted in the grey area but still!!

I think you may have deleted the [/QUOTE] at the end of the post, even though you delete the text, you need to leave the begining QUOTE and the end /QUOTE in place.

When you rep someone and it gives you the final OK up top what does the option "Prevent this page from creating additional dialog" mean. Also the option is not always there. Doe's it have to do if you have posted on this thread.
I don't want to try it an regret it:thinking:

It prevents that confirmation box from popping up in future.

Every time you rep, although I believe it'll only have effect on the browser you originally set it on. The message will still appear on other computers/other browsers unless you tell it not to.

When giving a rep I can't seam to go advanced and give a smiley or what not?
Again I must be missing something:thinking:

Just need to type out the "code" for the smiley.

If you hit "More" on the smilies panel it'll give you the codes.
