Ultrasonic cleaner for cleaning lenses?

Saw this ultrasonic cleaner at a local store here.. it is similar to this one:

My question: Is it going to destroy the laser lenses? Or is it a way to clean the lense?

Do you mean the acrylic ones from Aixiz or G1's and the such, if you'd like the answer for the aixiz or if that would be a close enough test I could try....

I have 3 that I'm not using since all my main lasers atm use some of Qumes lens's.

I 'll do 2 tests ATM since all 3 lens's are in a bag and have had little or no exposure to the elements of dust, and usual household particulits, test 1 will be just the ultra sonic cleaning and test 2 will be US cleaning with heat, both will be done with max time on the timer.

IgorT used to dump them in some acetone for a short period. Then wiped them with a micro fiber cloth.

Well while waiting for the camera battery to charge, I noticed meatballs, and TJ's responses so it would seem you have your answer, however I still did the test with just with no heat.

For the test I used my 445 LPF unit (basically a host, battery's, extender, and driver from survival, lens from Qumefox, and diode from DTR) with only 1 18650 since using 2 would most likely ruin the diode and the lens.

These will be side-by-side before on the left and after on the right unless I load an image on the wrong side, but I'll try not to.

I started by taking the laser into a room I could close the door to reduce ambient light and to make sure I was the only one looking at the laser, then I took shots 4 shoots of before the lens was placed in the ultrasonic cleaner and then the lens blown off with a can of compressed air then re-installed and 4 more pics were taken.

The results, I'd say it makes the lens dirtier (if that's a word or if its even spelled right) although it may have just been me and possibly not letting the lens dry well enough in between tests, but the lens is still intact and it still focuses.

Iam not sure what Kind of solution or if its just plain water that goes into the ultra sonic clearer's but with any lens even when using alcohol you have to whip them dry with a Q-Tip or something of that nature. I find the cheap Dollar store ones work the best. "the ones that have a plastic stick to hold on"

If you dont the impurity's will stick on the lens and leave them looking dirty.

I found IMO its better to not clean them. Every time i trying cleaning a lens it alway became a fail. Worse then before. The only lens i have success with is the G1. I can clean those lens pretty spotless. But the Aixiz Ones will always come out worse. I was hoping the Ultra sonic Cleaner would work

I even went to a eye care store and asked for there recommendation and even they when i asked them to clean a lens for me came out worse then what i did.

Lens Pens dont work. They smudge the lens up.

So if they get dirty i would just replace them. Unless its the G1 lens. Those clean good with Alcohol. The Highest proof the better.:beer:

Well even if they don't do a good job at lens's they sure as heck do a great job on other items....
