Hi. I have recently bought a 532 nm 200 mW laser from Skylasers/laserbtb. I'm waiting for it to arrive; meanwhile I got two simple questions about it:
1) Is the provided battery charger safe?
I have read almost every sticky on the forum, and I know that some of you had some problems with a cheap battery charger. What about the one provided with my laser? Do you think it is OK or should I buy a better one?
2) How does the Remote Connector Key exactly work?
I know that the laser is shipped with a Remote Connector Key, which is basically a shorted audio jack. I may cut the wire and connect it to a toggle switch in order to contol the laser remotely. So my guess was that the jack was needed in order to close the circuit and make the laser work; with a toggle switch I could open the circuit and stop the laser. But then Kevin told me

I didn't fully understand what he meant in his second sentence - maybe because of my bad English - but in the first one he said that I didn't need to insert the Remote Connector Key to make he laser work. So was my guess wrong? How does it work then?you can use the laser even without inserting the remote connector key at all. we have a simple inserting key for the switch.
