Trying to find good 532nm 150-200mw module for laser pointer build (+small question)

Hi, Im trying to find good 532nm laser module (bare min. 150mw) for laser pointer at budget of arround 50$, I know it is not much, but I have already found some modules that could suit me, but Im not sure about their quality in some ways, thats why Im asking you.

Firs of all, can I trust laserlands.net website somehow more than ebay sellers?
They say than their modules are min. 150 mw and it seems quite realistic compared to some ebay sellers claiming on 40$ module that power instability is only 1% on 200mw :)
However they leave REALLY FEW details about these modules, as well as they dont even specify current conpsumption for every option, they sell like 2 or 3 power output options for single module, but specify current only once (just see in the links below about what Im talking about)
Even more, different modules having the same power option and the same voltage consume different amounts of current (maybe they just leave so few details or I just dont urdestand something :\)

+ i asked them like 2 or 3 times if two modules have glass lens among other questions, and they didnt say anything about that

But still at least they should be 150mw if they say so yeah? They at least look quite more profesional than ebay sellers from china.
And I hope this is only green 532nm output without IR.

It has I think the most amount of details, glass lens long duty cycle etc, I just have to ask them if the back of it is possible to unscreew so I can mount handle there, since there is no other way to attach it except gluing that I would avoid for obvious reasons.
Also it consumes the most amount of current (if i understand it corectly) so it should have more powerfull pump (but again I might be wrong and dont understand it, but thats why im asking you)

Next one is this

is the second most promissing, but Idk if it has glass lens, i hope at least that this one is unscrewable, especially that if it is i could somehow add focusing cap on it or change it to glass one if plastic
no current specified but it has already driver which is cool, (I can test it right away if it works and I dont have to build driver for that)
also it is small, so I will have more freedom during designing my host.

nice that it has focusing but it would be hard to design simple host arround that, what wouldnt look weird.
also idk if lens is glass
and smaller current than first one.

So, tell me which of these is the best, if you could recommend laserlands, or even if instead of choosing betwen these I should buy another from different source that you know is good.

Do you know when DTR will be back from vacations, or at least sell diodes again (according to ebay informations should be right now buut it doest seem like that). I tried to buy (from his website) 700mw 638 sharp GH0637AA2G like day or two ago, but after paypal transaction I havent got any email confirmation from paypal, I hope that he just blocked paypal transactions, and this isnt paypal bug. Idk if I should contact him? (also is it true that this sharp (GH0637AA2G) has better beam/output than oclaro (HL63193MG)?)

The problem you have is you need a 1 watt 808nm pump diode in your module to get out 150 mW to 200 mW. I prefer to find one that you can access the driver. I then heat sink the output transistor and crank the pump power up to max. The only one I see that might have that diode is the first one, but it doesn't look like the driver is easily accessed. I used to build up to 200 mW 532nm lasers all the time, but that was several years ago. I haven't looked for one with a 1 watt pump diode in a very long time.

I can't make sense of the pic's. Wouldn't the 2W c mount pump be in the back in front of the driver board?:eek:
Has anyone seen or worked with this style 532? For the money its tempting..
2 sections, the c-mount is mounted at the front of the larger aluminium heatsink section, the picture that has the circle at the front, in the circle is the second heatink, this smaller front heatsink section holds the crystals and the collimating lens. They claim the LD is isolated from the crystals, by what appears to be isolation paste. I guess that would reduce temp Fluktuation when the LD warms up and cools down :thinking:

That is a good price for a better than 450 mW 532nm laser module. I also wonder if anyone has bought and tested this module. I wonder if the driver could be heat sinked to get a longer run time than 100 seconds. It could be put into a HH unit with an even larger heat sink to extend the run times too. It will also depend on the temperature of the crystal set as it could heat up quickly with a 2 watt pump diode into it.

Paul, the pics show alot of glue on the driver, which can probably be removed? It has no labeled size dimensions but it has to be at least 30mm wide which is a good start and a big battery spring which has to be specific for a host? Need someone to build one around that module which has custom size or a non traditional module I guess.

Are c mount 532's common?

When you get up in power C mount 808nm pump diodes are not uncommon as they can often be easily focused into the crystal set. If the O-Like specs are genuine, this would be a great module to make a HH 532nm laser out of. Getting a HH up to 500 mW laser prefab is usually quite expensive. If you could get a host for this, you could save a lot of $$$ over buying one outright.

Well guys, I haven't gotten much more informations from them although I asked very clearly :-;
I feel like appropriate response would be "k thx" ;_;


Tell me guessing what they said about IR leakage if this is 150-200mw of pure 532+IR or 150-200 as a whole combined :-;

I have never found a 532nm laser with more than 20% IR ever. I have filters I bought years ago that block 97% of the IR and pass 95% of the 532nm green laser light. I have tested laser with and without a filter and a 180 mW unfiltered 532nm laser puts out about 150 mW when filtered which is a whole lot less than 20%. I have also compared the relative area under the curve of the 808nm content and the 532nm content with a spectrometer and the difference is huge. In this case the 16% is typical of what I've observed. It would have to be a really poorly constructed 532nm laser to have 30% to 45% IR content in it.

Its weird, the person I talked with didn't seem to know much about these modules either since I asked other questions before especially about that glass lens and got similar answer. Idk if I should still try my luck and buy that 1st bigger module that has glass lens from them or search somewhere else? :\

I can't imagine a 532nm with almost half its output being IR. That is just terrible even for an unfiltered high power laser like 5 watts. They must have no idea what it is they are selling. That is not so unusual for a Chinese seller. They might be lucky to know the primary wavelength is 532nm. I doubt many even know how they work.

I own a 1W Jetlasers 532 OEM unit.. my fav!!

time to take new Pics--its a version they no longer offer. A 'true' lab laser not designed for inside anything.
