aww.. sorry to hear! truly a dark day..

but then, a 1w diode would have a higher powerdensity when focussed properly, and would be a lot easier to handle! so perhaps not the worst thing possible to happen.

autopsy video. there are at least 100 fibers in this incredible thing! wow! i would not have guessed from the outside that this is what was in the case of this diode!
