It'll work but I'm not a fan of the design. I like headlamps that can also double as clip on lights, and don't need THREE batteries. At least opt for the version with the third overhead strap.

Another option is something like an SC52 with a spare pocketclip, so you can just clip it onto the bill of a hat.
