Just showing off my latest little 445 build...

It is powered by a 10180 Li-Ion battery...

No room for a driver. It is direct to the battery. But there is a silicon diode and a cap. Just like my Tiny Titanium red build shown here: (but without the 2 ohm resistor like I used in my red build)

Using an AixiZ 445 lens, it peaks at about 185mW's. But I marked it 160mW's because it drops to that power fairly fast...

It will continue to drop if left on. The battery is a little lacking on capacity for this build. But it's great for short duty. Like 20 seconds or so...

Hopefully one day, AW will make a 12180... A 12mm battery will easily fit this little host...

That's a nice little build, and a reasonable amount of power for something you could keep in your pocket. I've got a couple 445 diodes just sitting, I may just have to do something similar - I like the idea.
 
Very nice Jay! Ultra-compact in an almost indestructible host. No one would suspect it of being anything like what it is, unless they had already known about it. :)

only $22? it's really cheap. But still wondering whether it is really 160mw, I have got a cheap 200mw one, but have no idea is the power as high as it promise

That link is only the host taken from a flashlight, he converted it into a laser.
 
Yes, twist on or off...

If you check out the thread I linked to the red build, you can see all details of the assembly...

Because it is twist on switching, with a red build, I had to isolate the module from the host. Because the red diode's case pin is negative. And if the module was not isolated, it would be 'always on'.

With the 445 build, I did not have to isolate the module from the host. Since it is a floating pin diode. I also did not use a resistor to limit current with the 445 like I did with the red. But I used a cap and silicon diode for both...

Batteries. It's always the batteries that let us down! Why hasn't technology caught up with us?!!! I bet NASA never had to put up with this cr*p! :tinfoil:

Yeah the titanium is awesome material, but very difficult to machine...

Hey if you double post in one of my threads. I feel more comfortable! Since I double, triple, and all kinds of posts in most of my threads... :)

That's because I use my sales threads as a reference to when I shipped and so forth...
 
Seeing a build like this makes me think of building a Noisy Cricket from Men in Black.
